SPILL GUARD | Formaldehyde Neutralizer | Sold Individually

Features:

  • Neutralized spills can be flushed away or soaked up depending on local regulations.
  • Highly recommended to have available in all prep rooms.

Purpose: Spill Guard is formulated to neutralize formaldehyde in liquid form (not vapors).

Directions

  1. Contain the spill. Stop the source and keep the liquid from spreading.

  2. Apply Spill Guard (1:1 by volume).
    Example: for 0.5 gal of formaldehyde solution, apply 0.5 gal of Spill Guard evenly over the spill.

  3. Allow to dwell 15–30 minutes.
    Do not disturb during this time; neutralization will occur and off-gassing may be noticeable.

  4. Absorb and collect. Use appropriate absorbent/pads, then place waste in a sealed, labeled container.

  5. Clean the area. Wash the surface with water/detergent as appropriate and dispose of waste per local regulations and your facility’s SOP/SDS.

Safety

  • Wear required PPE (gloves, eye/face protection, protective clothing/footwear, respirator).

  • Ventilate the area; increase local exhaust and keep others clear until odors dissipate.

  • Do not mix with other chemicals (e.g., bleach or other oxidizers).

For large spills or uncertainty, follow your spill response plan and contact your safety officer.
